Earwax Removal in Berkeley, CA
Is Earwax Buildup a Problem?
Earwax will usually take care of itself. It’s your body’s way to clean your ear canal and push out any dirt. But sometimes earwax becomes impacted against the eardrum or completely blocks the ear canal. Earwax can even cause tinnitus, a ringing in your ears. That’s why sometimes addressing hearing loss is as simple as earwax removal.
You may be tempted to try to remove earwax using a cotton swab. Don’t. Confirm with your audiologist that you do not have any perforations in your eardrum. If eardrum is fully in tact, ear drops can soften the earwax, which can then be irrigated out using a bulb syringe. If wax cannot be removed fully and safely using ear drops, please contact us to schedule an earwax removal appointment.
